These are exciting times at the Gathering Place!
The Gathering Place(GP) Board, Staff and Task Force members congratulate our Executive Director, Mark Fritchman on his exciting new career choice. St. Simons Community Church has invited Mark to become the new Family Pastor. We are proud of all that Mark accomplished during the four years he served The Gathering Place as Executive Director. He served the GP well and our best wishes go with Mark as he begins this new adventure on April 1, 2010.
Kim Belt, long time Gathering Place leader, has accepted the job of GP Interim Executive Director. Joe Fendig, who was a GP founder thirty years ago and has remained a key GP leader, will take the reins as Interim Director of Ministry Events and former GP Executive Director Jay Hanson will be on hand to direct the College Intern summer program. These key GP leaders plus the continuing strong leadership of GP staff directors, John Williams, Niki Anderson, Josh Bruce, Madhur Day and a host of dedicated GP volunteers promise to make the Main Event Season of 2010 the best ever.

The GP’s long term goal has always been “Building and Sending Christian Leaders since 1981”. This ministry plan has worked effectively since the GP’s founding with GP students, staff, past & present being found in active leadership throughout our community. We are thankful that now Mark is joining this group of Christian Leaders and will still be serving with the GP for years to come.
As your GP Board of Directors we count it a privilege to continue to work beside you for what is sure to be the greatest phase in the history of The Gathering Place.
