Gian-Paul Gonzalez
During the New York Giants’ magical Super Bowl run, much of their
inspiration is attributed to Gian-Paul Gonzalez (pronounced John-Paul).
Prior to the Giant’s Christmas Eve game with the NY Jets, Gonzalez
delivered the now famous “ALL IN” rally cry message during the Giants’
chapel service. “Sometimes we’ve got to step up and be ALL IN,” Gonzalez
told the team. “You have to be willing to say, ‘I’m going to be ALL IN and
risk everything and bet everything.’” In a post game interview after beating
the Jets, Linebacker Michael Boley underscored Gonzalez’ remarks: “When
you say, “ALL IN” you should feel like you have nothing left when you walk
off the field. Everybody’s ALL IN: mind, body and soul.” Gonzalez as been
feature in Fox News & the NY Post and he admits that he is taken aback by
the way his message has caught on. Something special happened at that
chapel service and the team and fans alike adopted “ALL IN” as their rally
cry. As the NY Giants leave the Super Bowl, Gonzalez hopes that his “ALL IN”
message will be more than a chant for a football team but a life message for
all those who hear it.
At 28 years old, Gian-Paul Gonzalez is himself an inspiration. He was a
former All-American forward from Montclair State scoring nearly 1,400
points in his 3 year career. Offered a pro basketball contract, he turned
it down in order to continue his work with at-risk youth. He is a gifted
motivational speaker and is the founder of
4-One, an organization
dedicated to using basketball to share the gospel of Jesus Christ in
inner-city public schools and juvenile jails. He also serves as head
basketball coach for Kings College and teaches high school in the
inner city in New Jersey. To learn more about Gonzalez, watch his
interview on Fox News & read
